How Solar Emergency Power Systems Work
- Sunflower Emergency Power System remains fully charged during normal operating conditions from energy produced by your solar system or the utility grid managed through the power electronics (inverter).
- During Power Outages the Emergency Power System automatically turns-on in less than a second by switching the power source feeding your house from the utility grid or your solar system to your Sunflower Emergency Power System.
- SunFlower’s Emergency Power System includes a secure load center box located by your main breaker box to manage the critical loads you need during multi-day power outages (fridge-lights-phones-A/C-Heat-security-microwave-computer-TV-pumps). Hot water should be provided by your SunFlower Solar Hot Water System.
- During multi-day power outages your solar system will produce electrical power for your home during the day light hours while charging the system’s storage cells for use during night-time or cloudy conditions. Dependent on the size of your solar system (KW’s) and your critical load requirements (KWH’s) the Sunflower Emergency Power System will provide weeks of emergency power until the utility grid power is restored.
